Maiden Voyage – Antelope Island

Video short by Lori Esposito

I traveled with the Trickster Expedition in the Spring of 2008. During the maiden voyage the project was nearly destroyed by high winds coming off the Great Salt Lake. This video records the victorious reconstruction of the project by the crew. My personal experiences of installing and relocating the Trickster, for me, is a part of its legend. I hope this video creates a glimpse into the experience of participation. Come one, come all! If you can handle it. ‘Boy’ Scouts – pssshhha!  We spent the early morning scooping water from the floor of our shriveled tents. Our faces were covered in bug bites and sunburn. But today, I have zero regrets and look forward to many more adventures with Trickster.

  1. Here is a link to a painting that I did inspired, in part, by Trickster.

  2. Cool site, love the info. I do a lot of research online on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks, 🙂

    A definite great read.. ..

  3. thx Bill we need all the encouragement we can get-about to launch onto the blog the projects diary and a lot more photos–struggling right now with bread on the table issues–these have derailed a bit the ice cream on the plattae–but the basic truths remain, as a society we still are wealthy and weild great power and privilege, and even now when there is more pressure our decisions are maddeningly frivolous–lets save the investment bankers but not provide health care for all children–and yes i am one of those who believes that grown up children need health care too–its easy to get emotional about children and their needs–like cold wet kittens, but every cat has a kitten within

  4. But from time to time I be enduring be stricken to allow that the whole community is an problem, a benign enigma that is made rueful on our own fuming assault to spell out it as though it had an underlying truth.
